Summer Vacation?  

Not at Faith Lutheran Church!!!

A Message from our Pastor

Okay, I’m not saying you CAN’T take a vacation – but please know this: just because it’s summer, things don’t stop here at Faith Lutheran Church. In fact, some really exciting events are taking place during July.

First of all, our worship experience for the summer will be exciting! We will continue having a 5:00 p.m. Saturday night service and three services on Sunday morning: 8:00, 9:15, & 11:00. We will continue to vary the music and styles of worship, making it as accessible as possible for all.

Events for July 2010:

New Member Class:   On Sunday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m., we will offer a one-afternoon Introduction to the Lutheran faith and to life and ministry at Faith Lutheran.   We will conclude the afternoon with a light dinner provided by Faith. We have several people ready to attend the class – please let the church office know if you are interested. All are invited—those new to the faith and members who would like to renew their knowledge of the Lutheran faith.

Vicar Jon Hodges & Family Farewell Potluck:  It doesn’t seem possible that a year has gone by since Vicar Jon and his family arrived, but it is now time to bid them farewell.  On Sunday, July 18, at 12:00 Noon, there will be a potluck gathering

in the Fellowship Hall following the 11:00 worship service.  We will miss Vicar and his family and are excited for them as they return to the Seminary in St. Louis to

finish up his final year. We would like to see you all there.  If you are unable to attend, please send a card, letter, or email to be shared with the Hodges family.

Vacation Bible School:  July 26-30 will be a joyful time at Faith. We head for VBS fun on the High Seas this year! Ahoy Mateys!

Faith in Action:  We have been collecting items for our service men and women during the past two months. On July 31, 2010, at 8:30 a.m., the Lutheran churches of Collier County and Thrivent members will Join Hands to pack boxes for shipment at Faith.

What a joy it is to serve with you at Faith Lutheran Church!   Blessings to all of you
