Knowing Christ, making Christ known.

If you know of someone who is sick or has been sick or has suffered a loss, and would appreciate receiving a shawl, contact Sue Parker, 348-8068.

The shawls have been knitted or crocheted as prayers have been said for the recipients. Marion Schrader is overseeing this part of the project. Contact her at 643-5360, if you would like to participate in this ministry.

Text Box: "Fix Our Eyes on Jesus" is the theme for the FL/GA District LWML Biennial Convention to be held at the Paramount Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Gainesville, Florida, on October 1-3, 2010.

If you would like to attend, please contact Donna Jean Christy, 530-1268. Early registration needs to be made by July 20 to save $15.00. More information is in the Lutheran Women's Quarterly in the Hallway near the Mite Box.

WANTED FOR SPRING TEA 2011 --

More teacups and teapots!!

This summer as you are traveling, search in antique, thrift shops and your homes for fancy cups that could be donated to the Women of Faith for their Teacup Collection. The Spring Tea has become very popular and we need more cups and teapots. They will be safely stored for use each year. Thank you so much. Any questions? Contact Karen Frank @ Home: 239-596-3580(Naples); 239-572-3580(cell); e-mail: kkfrank11@aol.com

(Place your donation of a teacup and saucer or teapot in the bright green basket in the hallway leading to the Fellowship Hall. Thank you, thank you, thank you!)

Who are the Women of Faith/LWML?

We base our service on the following scriptural verse:

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God”

1 Corinthians 10:37

All women who attend Faith Lutheran Church, whether  year-round residents or seasonal residents, are members of Women of Faith/LWML. That means that all women are welcome and invited to attend our monthly meetings, held the second Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m., in the Discipleship Room. On rare occasions that date is changed, but the change is always announced in the bulletin. Please consider attending the meetings and becoming involved in our activities.

LWML stands for Lutheran Women's Missionary League, which is an organization to which the WOF belong. As indicated by the name, Lutheran missions are supported. We contribute money through our monthly mite collections and from our fundraisers. We also attend local fall and spring Southwest Zone rallies, the statewide conference of the FL/GA District,

and the National Convention.

There are many opportunities to work in the mission field in our congregation:

MITE collections

Mite collection is the first Sunday of every month, although donations are accepted at any time.

ALL MEMBERS of FAITH:

Please clean out your pockets and purses and donate your loose change!  A portion of these donations will be going to help the many people who are suffering from the devastation of this season’s hurricanes.

If you like to sew, join the Itchin’ to Stitch group who make quilts, sew layettes, etc, that are sent around the world.

The Cravin’ to Craft group creates many items to sell at our craft bazaar, which is held the first Saturday in November (This year's date is November 7. Call Marion Schrader, 643-5360, to offer your services). The proceeds provide money to support many mission projects.

We sponsor Blood Drives twice a year.

August LWML Mite Sunday is the 1st!

In the past 63 years, over $80 million has been contributed through mite offerings. Your gift along with the contributions of others will provide perpetual funding to assist the LWML in continuing in its history of mission-ministry in the church,

the community and among the people of the world.
